Multiplexer or MUX in surveillance world is a device that essentially lets several signals to be transmitted into one channel, on one device. What we’re talking about here is CCTV cameras. - Duplex Multiplexers – These are the ones you often see in movies. Duplex provide the ability to view multiple cameras by splitting the screen into 4, 8, or 16 (depending on camera system) blocks. You can zoom in or out and get better view. Widely used in CCTV business.
